Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a site search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any results through its service. Cabarrus County Court Docket does not store or log those entered search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If an email is sent to us, we retain the message to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, site systems may receive technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files saved on a device. They help show aggregate traffic patterns, such as commonly visited pages. Analytics services help process that traffic information. A browser can be configured to block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating and maintaining the site
- Passing a search request to the applicable partner service
- Reviewing aggregate traffic and performance patterns
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be interest-based
No Court-Record Data on File
Cabarrus County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. It publishes general routing information for the Cabarrus Clerk of Superior Court, the District 25 trial courts, and the North Carolina eCourts Portal. The Portal provides public Case Summaries, but it is not the official court record. This resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes on this resource. Information entered there is governed by the provider's own privacy policy, not this policy. Those providers set their own retention and sharing practices, which this resource does not control. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
This resource links to court, clerk, statewide search, legal-aid, and third-party services. For example, the official Cabarrus County Courthouse page is maintained by the North Carolina Judicial Branch. A visitor who follows an external link leaves this site, and that destination's privacy policy then applies. Review it before submitting personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to provide targeted advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for information collected through the resource. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so a breach-free outcome cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor's personal information has been submitted, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
North Carolina court-record access is governed primarily by G.S. 7A-109, with G.S. 132-1 providing general public-record background. Those rules govern judicial records, subject to restrictions such as expunction and juvenile confidentiality, and do not make the Portal or this resource an official court record. Privacy and consumer-protection law may grant additional rights depending on a visitor's location. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised from time to time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page with an updated effective date.
